A Sri Lankan fan named Chandramohan Krishanth gifted Indian cricketer Virat Kohli a specially crafted silver bat ahead of the India-Pakistan match in the Asia Cup 2023. The bat is engraved with all of Kohli’s 76 international centuries.
Krishanth is a net bowler for the Sri Lankan team and has been a fan of Kohli since 2017. He said he wanted to gift Kohli something special to commemorate his achievements in cricket. He spent three months carving the bat and said it was a labor of love.
Kohli was touched by the gesture and thanked Krishanth for the gift. He said that it was one of the most unique gifts he had ever received.
Krishanth stated that he is a great fan of Kohli and met him during practice in 2017. He toiled for three months to create this one-of-a-kind bat as a gift for Kohli.
The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) also released a video of Kohli mentoring local young cricketers with his experiences. According to the BCCI post, “Get inspired for the weekend with Virat Kohli talking to young cricketers.”
