
Pakistan trounced Nepal by a large margin of 238 runs in the Asia Cup opener. While batting first, Pakistan recorded a high total of 342 for 6. Shaheen Shah Afridi got off to a fast start, grabbing two wickets in the opening over, and Nepal was all out for 104.
Shadab Khan bowled well, capturing four wickets for 27 runs in 6.4 overs. Both Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf bowled well. Aarif Sheikh (26) and Sompal Kami (28) fought hard, but Nepal’s innings were done in 23.4 overs.
Earlier, Babar Azam’s 151 runs and Iftikhar Ahmed’s unbeaten 109 drove Pakistan’s total. They put on an incredible 214-run partnership for the fifth wicket.
