Gold prices in the local market rose on the opening day of the new business week, mirroring advances in the worldwide bullion market.
On the global market, the price of the precious metal jumped by $2, ending at $1,891 per ounce. Meanwhile, the price of silver has stayed unchanged at Rs. 2,800 per tola and Rs. 2,400.54 per 10 grammes. In interbank trading, the rupee gained ground against the dollar.
The price of a tola of gold jumped by Rs3,100 to close at Rs229,900, according to data from the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), while the price of 10 grammes of 24-carat gold increased by Rs2,685 to close at Rs197,102.
